Grist published a nice article on this subject that I wrote about recently. They do it purely from a CO2 perspective, which should be enough to be convincing, but of course their case is only made stronger by the implicit strains that the current projections (world GDP to quadruple by 2050) would have on minerals, water, biodiversity...
